Still tired, we are proud to announce that we were able to participate as the escorts @ the Homeride . The Homeride is a 500km cycling tour that is organised by the Ronald McDonald housing organisation in the Netherlands as a benefit-event.
This year, a total sum of € 1.101.070 was collected!!
The ride takes up to a tough 24 hours of cycling for the participants wherein they could ride in stages. The route started in Utrecht and moved through Amsterdam, Leiden, The Hague, Rotterdam, Goeree Overflakkee, Bergen op Zoom, Den Bosch, Nijmegen and finally back in Utrecht.
Throughout the name of DPA Cauberg-Huygen, Andreja and Jasper were the escorts of the material vans during the ride and made sure everyone kept their motivation (including our own’s). We equipped the cyclists when it was their turn to ride and made sure that we manned the posts of the Cheerpoints!
DPA Cauberg-Huygen had a hard struggle in the night with the navigation systems but kept an impressive constant pace of almost 34km/h! Tired but very satisfied, the heroes in the cycling team finished fourth overall!
